I have come to the realization that I rarely knit very much for self pleasure anymore. I am usually so packed full with life and work that I forget about knitting something for myself. Last weekend, I picked up some yarn and knitted something for my little baby girl. The joy that she has brought into my life is something I cannot describe. I know that happiness is something you have to choose for yourself and you have to practice it every single day. Having her in my life has made me realize how blessed I am to be her momma.
With this design, I wanted to create something simple and that didn’t take much brain to create. I knew I wanted to decrease at each end and I didn’t want to have to worry about the way the decreases looked, so I chose the garter stitch to hide the way the decreases looked. I hope you can find this pattern easy to follow, if you have questions, please feel free to comment. I don’t promise a video because frankly, I don’t have the time to create one.
A quick little present for a loved baby!
Knitting loom: 64 peg small gauge knitting loom. Sample was knit using purple hat loom from KBLooms Premium set.
Yarn: Approx 50 yds of worsted weight merino wool. Sample used Red Heart Chic Sheep in Poolside (3.5 oz/100g | 186 yds/170 m)
Gauge: 9.5 sts x 16 rows=2 inches in stockinette
Size: 6.5 inches in length x 7 inches wide (the flat front at the widest point).

K=knit stitch (not the ewrap)
P=purl stitch
Rnd(s)=round(s)
Approx=approximate
Decrease Row Instructions
Decrease on every right side row (clockwise row—it should be on the Knit Rows), at each end as follows:
Move the loop from the second peg over to the third peg. Third peg has 2 loops on it.
Move the loop from the first peg over to the second peg.
Move the loop from the second to last peg to the third to last peg. The third to last peg has 2 loops on it. Move the loop from the last peg over to the second to last peg.
The row has been prepped to decrease by 2 stitches.
INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 64 sts, prepare to work in the round.
Round 1-10: *k2, p2; rep from * to end of round.
Next round: Bind off 30 sts. K33 (to the end of round).
Next row: p34.
*Next row: k34.
Next row: p34.*
Rep from * to *: 10x (or until panel measures 4.5 inches from cast on edge)
**Decrease Row: Prep the knitting loom as instructed above on the “Decrease Row Instructions”.
K to end of row (when you reach the peg that contains two loops, treat the two loops as one loop).
Next row: P to end of row. **
Repeat from ** to ** until you have 8 sts remaining.
Bind off with basic bind off method.
Weave all ends in.
