Loom knitting has gained popularity over the past few years. It provides a way to create knitted fabric without the use of knitting needles. The dexterity needed for using a knitting loom is minimal, making them the perfect tool to learn to knit for both children and adults. Next time you are at your local craft store, pick up a set of knitting looms and a skein of yarn and take a couple of hours to create a hand knit heirloom.
The patterns in this website have been created over a period of time using some of the most popular knitting looms on the market, such as Provo Craft's Knifty Knitters and Decor Accents, Inc. The designs were created by Isela Phelps, author of Loom Knitting Primer: a Beginner's Guide to Loom Knitting.
Happy Looming!

Good morning Isela.
I was looking at your website here, and I noticed that you have the directions for Stockinette Stitch and Garter Stitch mixed up.
Yes, you do.
Don’t believe me? Tell you what . . . follow both sets of directions, and see what you get.
It’s OK though, Lots of folk get them mixed up, due to both stitch names having to do with stockings.
Love the huge button on your daughter’s little capelet tho, really finishes it off perfectly.
Gotta go, off to look at patterns . . . for knitting, of course!

Hi Deborah,
Thanks for stopping by the website.
Thank you for looking at the stitches, however, the stitches are
correct for loom knitting. In loom knitting the right side faces the
knitter at all times unlike needle knitting where you have a right
and wrong side facing the knitter.

Could you explain the differences in the looms please. I have found different sets of round looms by different manufacturers and am unsure about which one to purchase. For instance, Darice offers a set of 4 round looms as does Knifty Knitter by Provo Clark. Are they basically the same? Thanks Denise

Hi Denise,
I have only seen the Provo Craft Knifty Knitter looms. I am not
familiar with the Darice ones. You can count the peg numbers and if
they are same, then both sets should be about the same to use them.
Where did you find the Darice? If they are online, perhaps I can
look at them and tell you some of the similarities/differences.
